Jeff Wilson Centre Manger, Capitol Shopping Jeff is responsible for the overall management of the Centre and lists some of his duties as continuing to innovate and implement new ways of delivering services in the centre so that the Capitol is seen to be the market leader within the industry. Initially appointed as the site engineer in 1990, Jeff has held many roles within the Management Team. During a brief break from Centre Management he was invited to return to the centre in 1998 as Operations/Deputy Manager and was subsequently appointed Centre Manager in November 2000. Following major refurbishment of the Capitol in 1998 – 2000 the Capitol has continued to strengthen its tenant mix and has welcomed many new retailers to the centre and the city such as H&M, Hobbs and Coast. At the head of a small but very successful Management Team, Jeff places emphasis on providing a first class customer service provision. As part of this he sees staff development and training as an essential element of his management and as a result of this approach The Capitol was awarded the coveted “Investors in People Recognition” in September 2002, only a few months after first registering for the scheme. Jeff has been a board member of the City Retail Partnership since 2000 and has also become actively involved in the community. He feels that by developing relationships with both the cities business community and local community this helps to market and develop the Capitol brand. Over the past five years under his management the Capitol has increased footfall substantially and now witnesses over 13 million visitors per year. Working with the experienced team at Plus Shops Jeff intends to ensure the quality the Capitol’s profile and retail offer is enhanced in order that it’s position as one of the regions most successful retail centres is maintained. Jeff is married to Sherryl and they have two children. Having been a keen sportsman in his younger days Jeff now lists “walking his dog” to be about the limit.
