Leigh Burnett BSc (Hons) MRICS

Leigh was appointed Property Director of Plus Shops Ltd in April 2005. Leigh is responsible for the acquisition of shopping centre investments for specific investors, as well as the Asset Management of our clients shopping centres. Her role is to maintain and maximise the rental and capital growth for the Centres. This is achieved by an active leasing programme, building good relationships with the retailers, through creative marketing and service charge control. To maintain a good line of communication so that the retailers feel they always have a direct contact with the Landlord. Leigh also works closely with Kitchen La Frenais Morgan on the KLM+Shops one stop service for Shopping Centre Management.

After graduating from South Bank University in 1994 with a degree in Estate Management, Leigh joined Capital Shopping Centres to work on The Harlequin Centre, Watford. During her time at CSC, she became a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and went onto to become Property Manger for Lakeside, Thurrock.

In 1997, Leigh joined Speciality Shops Plc, and was responsible for the management of Victoria Place, London, The Pyramids, Birkenhead, as well as several smaller Centres, and took an active role in the acquisition programme.

In 1999, Speciality Shops, by then part of the Milner Group, was absorbed by Delancey Estates Plc, and Leigh continued in her role as Property Manager for several of the portfolio’s Shopping Centres, including The Darwin Centre, Shrewsbury and Vicar Lane, Chesterfield.

Leigh joined Shops etc Ltd in March 2001, where as Portfolio Surveyor, she drove the Management of the Shopping Centre Portfolio up to the time of its successful sale in March 2004. She had great success in moving rental values and improving tenant mix, which contributed greatly to the profitable sale of the assets.

Leigh enjoys worldwide travel, and was fortunate recently to take a 5 month sabbatical to circumnavigate the globe. Travelling through Vietnam and India were particular highlights, as was diving in Hawaii and horseriding in Arizona.
