Fulham
Broadway Retail Centre
Owners: Hammersmith Shopping Centre
Ltd.
Date of purchase:
December 2005
Fulham Broadway Retail Centre is located in a vibrant
affluent part of South West London and comprises 196 000 sq
ft of lettable space. The building was opened in October 2002
and has a striking glass fronted design which faces onto the
Fulham Road.
Substantial footfall, in excess of 10m, is generated by Fulham
Broadway Underground Station, which is within the scheme,
and combined with local bus services together with the 146
space car park make The Broadway the main transit hub for
the area.
The Centre is a mixed scheme with a very strong emphasis on
leisure, having a 9 nine screen Vue cinema; 5 restaurants
with 800 covers; a bar and a David Lloyd Health Club complete
with a 20m swimming pool. The leisure tenants reside on the
top 3 floors together with 5000 sq ft of office space. 16
Retail units are located on the ground floor which benefit
from the significant pedestrian flow generated by the Underground.
Major tenants include Sainsburys, Boots, Borders Express,
Virgin, Nandos, Weatherspoon and Pizza Express.
Chelsea Football Club is adjacent to the scheme and as part
of the Development; the existing Underground Station was redesigned
to safely accommodate the huge influx of fans attending the
stadium. On match days, whilst the majority fans do not come
through the mall exit from the station, the Centre’s
footfall still increases by about 25%.
