What’s a shopper to do when the snow is falling?
The temperatures are freezing and you have a Christmas
shopping gift list still unfulfilled? With the winter weather set
to stay for a few more days yet, the Internet really is going to
come into its own with Black Friday turning into Black Week as
shoppers search out those on-line bargains. At Plus Shops we are
big advocates of getting out there and touching and feeling the
goods and having the whole retail experience, but even we can see
the appeal of sitting by the fire, laptop in hand and clicking
through Amazon, M&S, John Lewis and all the High Street
favourites.
However, what you don't get is the shopping atmosphere, the pretty
lights, the decorations, the carol singers, Father Christmas
strolling through the malls and reindeers trotting up the High
Street. The winning card that all the Shopping Centres can play is
that they create environments to inspire shoppers and bring the
community together. It's all about getting people out from behind
those screens and interacting with other people, the retailers and
the centres themselves.
So, put down the mouse, don your snow shoes and get to your local
shopping centres to support the retailers who offer you customer
service, choice and a friendly smile which a computer can never
replace. You may even get a mince pie if you're lucky!
